► Advice Shops
Need some advice?
The aim of the Faculty Advice Shops is to offer support and advice to all students of the University.
In the early weeks you may have questions such as how to work out a timetable or find your way around the campus and then, as your course progresses, you may find you have queries about your study patterns, time management and so on. Each of the faculty advice shops will also give guidance about mitigating circumstances process operating within your Faculty, so if you miss a coursework deadline, or are struggling with something that is affecting your ability to study, pop in and have a chat with an adviser.
If you are having doubt about your course and are wondering what to do, then staff in your Faculty Advice Shop will also talk you through options. If you are thinking or withdrawing, it is really important that you follow University procedures to ensure that you don’t incur financial penalties, so please talk to an adviser.
Very often we can give you information that will help resolve your concerns without being unnecessary to withdraw (although of course the final decision is yours), but we want you to have the right information so that you make the right decision. It will sometimes be necessary to refer you to other support departments of the University, such as the Student Money Service or the Education Drop-in Centre and we will help you make any necessary arrangements.
The University of Glamorgan has five advice shops that are based in Treforest, ATRiuM and Glynda.
