UGU (University of Glamorgan Union) can offer confidential advice and information on a wide range of academic issues, during your time here. Anything from mitigating circumstances, course quality, changing courses or just simply a chat.

We also offer representation on issues such as academic appeals, complaints, academic infringements and disciplinary matters.

The Education Officer is responsible for representing the view of all UGU students both within the university on various academic committees as well as nationally, campaigning on top-up fees.

The Education Officer is also there to work alongside Course Representatives. These are elected students who are there to liase between the Students Union and their course. The SU is there to support the course rep's in whatever way they can and to use the student feedback whilst sat on the universities various committees.

Course Rep's might find themselves doing some of the following:

Working with other Rep's on issues of joint concern
Campaigning on issues raised by other students on their course
Referring individual students who need support/advice to the appropriate services.

The Trustees in the SU have an 'open door' policy, so if you are experiencing any problems just pop in and see one of us.
