Reception
Reception is the place to go if you want to know what's going on, when it's happening and who will be there. The staff are a mine of information and if they don't know, they'll know somebody who does. As well as issuing NUS cards the ladies on reception deal with:
REPROGRAPHIC SERVICES
Reception will help out if you need work photocopied, laminated or bound. They also offer a fax service.
GUEST MEMBERSHIP
Got a friend coming to stay? Want to take them out to the union?
Then you'll need to get them a guest membership card. Present your union card at reception and tell them that you'd like to 'sign-in' a guest. You'll be asked to provide your friends' name and home address and to pay £1.00. You have to accompany your friend to the union and YOU are responsible for their behaviour.
You can sign-in up to 2 guests per day and this MUST be done between 8.30am and 6.30pm (12noon - 6pm Saturday. Closed Sundays).
TRAVEL SERVICES
Timetables for local bus and rail routes are available from reception. You can also purchase your student railcard, student coachcard and international student identity card here.
LOST PROPERTY
If you lose it in the union and somebody finds it, it will end up at reception. Give us a ring or drop in and see if they've got it, but be warned-if you don't claim it within a term, it will end up in the bin or the end of term sale and you'll have to buy it back!
Similarly, if you leave your coat in the cloakroom and don't pick it up at the end of the evening, call at reception with your ticket and the staff will return your jacket.
GLYNTAFF
There is a union reception service on the Glyntaff campus on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10.30am until 2.30pm.
MERTHYR
There is a union reception service on the Merthyr campus on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10.30am until 2.30pm.
