There are plenty of places to get a decent meal or just a between-lectures snack, and they are right here on campus.
The Gallery restaurant
The Gallery is the big kahuna – a bustling intersection for all of university life. With good prices and plenty of seating, you shouldn’t be disappointed.
Bygones restaurant
A more compact Gallery… meal deals and great jacket potatoes at competitive prices.
The Courtyard
A light and airy place to meet your friends or just hang out between lectures. With fresh food and drinks available all day, you may not want to leave.
Bytes
Great Segafredo coffee, delicious fresh cakes and baguettes, and a contemporary feel make this the ideal place to meet after a lecture.
G’s
A snack-packed coffee shop. Great to pop in and grab a quick something if you’re on the move.
A-la-Kart
The A-la-Kart mobile snack van travels around campus selling a range of filled jacket potatoes, baguettes, sandwiches, hot & cold drinks, crisps and sweets.
Vending machines
Plenty are dotted all around campus, selling all sorts of goodies like cold drinks, hot drinks, crisps, sweets, hot toasties. So don’t worry if you get a sudden and unexplained bout of hunger in the middle of the night – you’ll not starve.
Meal vouchers
To make sure you don’t go hungry even as your bank balance gets thinner and thinner, buy some handy meal vouchers at the start of term – they offer a simple way to plan your finances and your lunch.
Students’ Union
Butties
Sandwiches, baguettes, snacks and, best of all, freshly baked Otis Spunkmeyer cookies make this one of the tastiest spots around.
Smiths
Smiths is the union’s lively café bar, where you can try the legendary club sandwich while enjoying a cup of coffee, asoft drink or an alcoholic beverage from the wide range on sale.
Baa Bar
Newly refurbished, this fine establishment sells a wide range of beers and spirits. There is a big screen for watching those all-important sports events, so pop in for a quick one to check it out.
Shafts
You will come to love Shafts, the union’s very own nightclub. The venue has earned a superb reputation due to it’s constant development in line with students’ wishes.
